Full-Time:
Land Use & Permitting Supervisor

The Town of Fletcher is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our Planning & Zoning Department as a Land Use & Permitting Supervisor. This position plays an important role in assisting residents, property owners, developers, and contractors with zoning and development processes while supporting the daily operations of the department.

Starting hourly hiring rate: $27.72–$28.85 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Public Works Maintenance Specialist

The Town of Fletcher is looking for an individual with experience in solid waste collection and disposal. Work includes participating in the collection and disposal of solid waste materials including garbage, appliances, furniture, yard waste and other materials; operates sanitation packer and other trucks on various routes. Other maintenance work to include maintenance work on streets, grounds, drainage, and other public facilities. Performs a variety of responsible unskilled, semi-skilled, and sometimes skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work on streets, buildings, grounds, drainage, and other public facilities; participates in solid waste collection and disposal.
Successful applicants will be a high school graduate and have experience in solid waste collection and/or maintenance or construction work. The applicant must also possess a valid class B commercial North Carolina driver’s license or willingly to obtain within three months.
Hourly hiring rate: $19.70

Police Officer

The Town of Fletcher Police Department seeks a police officer candidate who is a leader with high ethical standards and unquestionable integrity. Work includes patrolling the Town during an assigned shift in a police car, bicycle, or on foot; preventing, detecting and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments. Employees must exercise judgment, initiative and calm control when performing duties. Work involves frequent public contact which requires tact, firmness and decisiveness.
Prior BLET certification through North Carolina Criminal Justice Training & Standards is preferred. Opportunities to attend BLET as a Police Cadet are available for the eligible applicant that meets department requirements, to include an interview and background investigation.
Starting hourly hiring rate: $23.43
