Full-Time:

Police Officer

The Town of Fletcher Police Department seeks a police officer candidate who is a leader with high ethical standards and unquestionable integrity. Work includes patrolling the Town during an assigned shift in a police car, bicycle, or on foot; preventing, detecting and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments.  Employees must exercise judgment, initiative and calm control when performing duties. Work involves frequent public contact which requires tact, firmness and decisiveness.

BLET certification through North Carolina Criminal Justice Training & Standards is required with application.

Starting hourly hiring rate: $20.86

Part-Time/Seasonal:

Summer Day Camp Counselor

Fletcher Parks and Recreation is currently taking applications for Summer Day Camp Counselors. This position must be available for staff training in mid/late May and be available for all 9 weeks of camp. The summer day camp will run from June 3rd to August 2nd. Job duties include working with fellow staff and campers ages 5-11; assisting in the implementation of programmed activities, facilitating group experiences and field trips; and communicating with parents as needed.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have reliable transportation. Strong leadership, group management, and communication skills; ability to follow teaching process and program outlines; strong awareness of childhood developmental and behavior skills; enthusiasm to work with children; first aid/CPR certified preferred, (training available if not certified); specific skills desired in sports, games, nature, outdoor experience, crafts and an enthusiasm to work with children. Salary is $15.00/per hour, and this position is expected to work 40 hours during each camp week.
