The Town of Fletcher Police Department seeks a police officer candidate who is a leader with high ethical standards and unquestionable integrity. Work includes patrolling the Town during an assigned shift in a police car, bicycle, or on foot; preventing, detecting and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments. Employees must exercise judgment, initiative and calm control when performing duties. Work involves frequent public contact which requires tact, firmness and decisiveness.
Salary: The position is in pay grade 64 with a salary range of $37,417-55,684, depending on qualifications. Hiring salary will be determined based on qualifications and internal equity. FLSA status: Non-exempt.
Education: BLET graduation through North Carolina Criminal Justice Training & Standards is required.

Summer Day Camp Counselor

Fletcher Parks and Recreation is currently taking applications for Summer Day Camp Counselors. This position must be available for staff training in late May/early June and be available for all 9 weeks of camp. The summer day camp will run from June 15- August 14. Job duties include working with fellow staff and campers ages 5-11; assist in the implementation of programmed activities and facilitate group experiences and field trips; communicate with parents as needed.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have reliable transportation. Strong leadership, group management and communication skills; ability to follow teaching process and program outlines; strong awareness of childhood developmental and behavior skills; enthusiasm to work with children; first aid/CPR certified preferred, (training available if not certified); specific skills desired in sports, games, nature, outdoor experience, crafts, and an enthusiasm to work with children.
Salary is $10.00/per hour, and this position is expected to work 40 hours during each camp week. The Town of Fletcher is an EOE, and pre-employment drug screen and background screening will be required for the successful applicant.
