Update on Rutledge Road Development Proposal

At their May 19th meeting, the Fletcher Planning Board reviewed a submittal from Graycliff Capital for a 198 unit multifamily residential development on Rutledge Road. The current zoning of the property is R-2 which does not allow multifamily residential.
The applicant is requesting a conditional zoning district of R-3, which would allow for the proposed development. At the conclusion of this meeting, the Planning Board voted 6-1 to recommend that the Town Council deny the application and leave the property zoned R-2.
In June, staff will present Town Council with a brief overview of the application and request that the official public hearing be set for the regular July 13, 2020 meeting to formally consider the application.
