The parade includes musical groups\, decorated floats\, antique cars and the arrival of Santa! This year’s theme is “Christmas in Candy Land”. \n  \nParade Participants\n\nInterested in participating in the Town’s Annual Christmas Parade? Please click the Parade information and application below for all the details! Dance Groups\, Bands\, Youth Groups and local businesses are encouraged to enter! \n2016 Parade Application – Application deadline is November 28th! \n  \n  \nParade Spectators\nThe 2016 Christmas Parade will begin at the intersection of Old Airport Rd. and HWY 25. The parade will then travel down HWY 25 and end at the Blue Sky Cafe. Spectators will have a great view of the parade from the side walk on either side of HWY 25 between the Ingles Market and the Howard Gap Rd. intersection. The Town is encouraging spectators to view the parade from the middle of the route (between Fletcher United Methodist and Garner Stereo) to help ease congestion at the beginning and end of the parade route. DESCRIPTION:  \nOn Thursday\, December 1st the town of Fletcher will kick off the holiday season with its Annual Tree Lighting at Fletcher Community Park. This event will include the lighting of the Town Christmas Tree by Mayor Bill Moore\, visits with Santa and plenty of delicious hot chocolate and cookies to help keep warm. This is a perfect opportunity for children to give Santa their Christmas letters and to get a photo with the jolly old elf. \nPerformances \nJoin us for local groups performing some of there favorite holiday tunes. Performing groups include\, Veritas Christian Academy\, Southside Dance Studio and Fletcher Elementary School Chorus. \n  \n  \n  \nVisits with Santa\n\nThis is a great opportunity to get a picture with the jolly old elf and for the little ones to give Santa their Christmas list. \n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n Crafts\n\nStop by the craft table and make a holiday picture frame perfect for your photo with Santa Claus. \n  \n  \n  \n\nRefreshments\n\nThere will be plenty of delicious hot chocolate and cookies to help keep warm. These complimentary refreshments are provided by Dickey’s Barbecue Pit of Fletcher. \n\n\n \n  \nFood Donations\n\nThis event is free and open to the public but we encourage attendants to bring canned goods for a local food pantry. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n  \n  \nTown of Fletcher’s Annual Halloween Carnival will be held on Saturday\, October 29 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This year’s event will be held at Fletcher Community Park located at 85 Howard Gap Rd. in Fletcher. \nThis FREE community event will feature carnival style games with a Halloween twist\, a costume contest\, inflatable moon walk\, slide and obstacle course and lots of other family friendly Halloween fun! \n  \nNO PETS PERMITTED AT THIS EVENT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TRAINED SERVICE ANIMALS!\n  \nInflatables  \n\nChildren will enjoy the inflatable obstacle course\, slide and 5-in-1 bounce/slide combo.  There is no charge to enjoy these activities. \n  \n  \n  \nCostume Contest \nOur annual contest for children 11 and under will begin promptly at 4 p.m. Awards will be given to the Best Traditional Costume\, the Best Homemade Costume and the Most Creative Costume in each age category. Age categories are 4 and under\, 5-7 and 8-11. New this years event we will have a family category. In this category\, families can dress with a common theme and compete as a team. One overall “Best Family Costume” will be awarded. All participants should register at the Parks and Recreation tent no later than 3:45pm. \n  \n  Carnival Games\nField 5 will be littered with carnival style games with a Halloween twist. There is no cost to participate. Prizes include candy and Halloween toys. \n\n\n\nHay Rides\nEnjoy a hayride around beautiful Fletcher Community Park.  Fun for all ages! DESCRIPTION:  \n\nThe Town of Fletcher will be hosting its 3rd Annual Fletcher Family Festival on Saturday\, September 24! This event will include children’s games and inflatables\, touch a truck\, a musical performance by Caribbean Cowboys!  To cap off the evening we will be shooting off a spectacular fireworks show! Activities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and fireworks will be launched at 8 p.m. \n  \nMusic  – 5:45 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.\nSteve Weams and The Caribbean Cowboys Band provide a wide variety of music from Jimmy Buffett to other troubadours such as Peter Mayer\, Scott Kirby\, Jesse Winchester\, Fingers Taylor\, and the best of Classic\, Southern & Trop Rock\, Rhythm & Blues\, Bluegrass\, Beach Tunes\, and last but not least…a few classics such as Frank Sinatra and an awesome “Elvis” tribute along with the Caribbean Cowboys originals! Their original tunes bring you an island-sound consisting of reggae\, calypso\, and good old rock ‘n roll. \n  \n\nKidz Zone – 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. \n\nThe Kidz Zone will feature inflatables\, including a 22 ft slide\, inflatable obstacle course\, moon bounce and an inflatable farm for designed for attendees under 5 years old. \nThis year’s event will also feature field games\, including tug o’ war\, freeze dance contests\, egg and spoon races and so much more! \n  \nField Games Schedule\n5:40 p.m. – 3 Legged Race\n6:10 p.m. – Tug – o -war\n6:40 p.m. – Egg and Spoon Race\n7:10 p.m. – Potato Sack Race \n  \nFern Leaf School will also be providing a craft activity! DESCRIPTION:Congressman Mark Meadows will be hosting a Veterans’ Solutions Seminar at Fletcher Town Hall on August 25 from 2-5 pm to provide practical assistance to veterans in Western North Carolina. \nThis August\, Congressman Meadows\, in partnership with the Charles George VA Medical Center staff and the Veterans’ Affairs Winston-Salem Regional Benefit Office\, will host a series of Veterans’ Solutions Seminars across the 11th district to provide practical assistance to those who have served our nation. \nVeterans will be able to meet with members of Congressman Meadows’ staff\, representatives from the VA hospital\, the benefit office\, and the NC division of Veterans Affairs at the seminars. The veterans can learn more about available assistance with issues surrounding VA benefits\, healthcare\, and disability. \n“Our veterans deserve the absolute best and I am committed to assisting them in any way we are able. We owe a debt of gratitude to the brave men and women who selflessly served our nation\, and this is a small way to help see that they are getting the assistance to which they are entitled\,” Rep.
