The Fletcher Public Works Department was formed in March 1997 and has grown to a staff of eight.  The Public Works Facility is located at 21 Howard Gap Road, just off Highway 25 and over the railroad tracks.

Services provided by the department include collection of household waste, brush collection, seasonal leaf and Christmas tree collections, white goods pickup, street repairs and maintenance of Town Facilities and vehicles. recycling services are contracted through an outside company but are coordinated through the Public Works Department.
